Timer
Execute Mode includes a built-in countdown timer to help you stay focused and accountable to estimated step times.
Overviewβ
Timer Features:
- β±οΈ Countdown from estimated step time
- π Two display modes: Digital and Pie chart
- βΆοΈ Play/Pause control
- β Add/remove time on the fly
- π Reset to original estimate
- π Celebration when timer completes
Starting Timerβ
- Enter Execute Mode for any task
- Timer appears showing step's estimated time
- Click Play (βΆοΈ) to start countdown
- Focus on the step action
- Complete when done (timer or not)
Timer is optional - you can work without starting it.
Controlsβ
Play/Pause (βΆοΈ/βΈοΈ)
- Start/stop countdown
- Pausing preserves remaining time
Add 5 Minutes (+5m)
- Click to add 5 minutes to countdown
- Useful when step takes longer than expected
- Can add multiple times
Remove 5 Minutes (-5m)
- Click to subtract 5 minutes
- Only available if >5 minutes remaining
- Helps when moving faster than expected
Reset (π)
- Returns to original step estimate
- Stops current countdown
- Resets to starting time
Switching Viewsβ
Toggle between Digital and Pie:
- Click "Digital" or "Pie Chart" tab above timer
- View preference persists for session
- Same controls in both views
When Timer Completesβ
- Visual celebration - Confetti animation (5 seconds)
- No auto-complete - Timer ending doesn't mark step complete
- Timer stops at 00:00
- You decide - Complete step if done, or add more time if needed
Philosophy: Timer is guide, not enforcer. You control completion.
When You Complete Stepβ
If timer still running:
- Step marks complete
- Timer stops
- Move to next step with new timer
If timer already finished:
- Step completes normally
- No timer dependency
Timer β completion requirement - they're independent.
Mobile Timerβ
Optimized for touch:
- Larger touch targets for play/pause
- Swipe gestures for time adjustment (coming soon)
- Background timer (continues if app minimized)
- Lock screen controls (PWA)
Battery considerations:
- Timer uses minimal resources
- Won't significantly drain battery
- Can disable if conserving power
Does timer auto-start when entering step?β
No. You must click play manually. Can enable auto-start in settings.
What if I need more than +5 minutes?β
Click +5min multiple times. Each click adds 5 minutes. Or reset and manually set longer time (coming soon).
Can I set custom time instead of estimate?β
Not currently. Timer uses AI's estimated time. Custom duration coming in future update.
Does timer continue if I minimize Execute Mode?β
Yes. Timer runs in background. Returns to same time when you restore.
What happens if timer expires mid-step?β
Nothing - you keep working. Timer is guide, not blocker. Complete step when actually done.
Can I disable timer completely?β
Yes. Settings β Execution β Hide Timer. Timer area won't display.
Does timer sync across devices?β
No. Timer is local to current session. Each device has own timer state.
