Todoist Integration
Connect HealUp with Todoist to pull tasks from your Todoist projects and execute them with HealUp's AI breakdown and Execute Mode. Completions sync back automatically.
Quick Start
- Sign in to HealUp (authentication required)
- Settings → Integrations → Todoist
- Click "Connect"
- Authorize HealUp in Todoist popup
- Select projects to sync
- Start executing Todoist tasks in HealUp
Total setup time: 2 minutes
Two-Way Sync
Todoist → HealUp:
- Pull tasks from selected projects
- Import task names, descriptions, due dates
- Respect priority levels
HealUp → Todoist:
- Push task completions
- Update status in real-time
- Archive on delete
Sync Frequency
Automatic:
- Every 5 seconds while HealUp is open
- Batch up to 50 tasks per sync
- Background sync when app active
Manual:
- Click sync button anytime
- Refresh from Settings
- Force sync after changes
Step 1: Connect Account

Open HealUp Settings
- Click Settings icon (⚙️)
- Navigate to Integrations tab

Find Todoist
- Scroll to Todoist tile
- Click "Connect" button

Authorize
- Popup opens to Todoist
- Log in (if not already)
- Click "Agree" to grant permissions

Return to HealUp
- Popup closes automatically
- HealUp shows "Connected" status
- Green checkmark on Todoist tile
Step 2: Configure Sync
Select Projects:
- Choose which Todoist projects to sync
- Can sync all or select specific ones
- Recommended: Start with 1-2 projects
Sync Options:
- Auto-sync (enabled by default)
- Include completed tasks (off by default)
- Sync frequency (5 seconds default)
Priority Mapping:
- Todoist P1 → HealUp High
- Todoist P2 → HealUp Medium
- Todoist P3 → HealUp Low
- Todoist P4 → HealUp None
Step 3: Test Sync
- Create test task in Todoist
- Wait 5-10 seconds
- Check HealUp - task should appear
- Complete in HealUp
- Check Todoist - should show completed
If syncing works, you're ready!

Task Selection
Good candidates for HealUp:

Keep in Todoist only:

Synced Task Behavior
Task appears in both systems:
- Edit in either place (changes sync)
- Complete in either place (syncs back)
- Delete in HealUp → archives in Todoist
- Delete in Todoist → removes from HealUp

Selecting Projects
Sync All Projects:
- Every Todoist project pulls to HealUp
- Good for full migration
- Can be overwhelming with many projects
Selective Sync:
- Choose specific projects (e.g., "Personal", "Work Focus")
- Recommended approach
- Reduces noise, focuses on execution-ready tasks
Example Setup:
Todoist Projects:
- Inbox (capture, don't sync)
- Quick Tasks (simple, don't sync)
- Work - Deep Focus (sync ✅)
- Personal - Goals (sync ✅)
- Team Shared (don't sync, collaborative)
Changing Projects
Add Project:
- Settings → Integrations → Todoist
- Click "Configure"
- Check additional project
- Save → auto-syncs
Remove Project:
- Settings → Integrations → Todoist
- Uncheck project
- Save → tasks remain in HealUp but stop syncing
Filters & Smart Sync

Sync by Label:
- Only pull tasks with specific labels
- Example: Todoist label "HealUp" → only those sync
Sync by Due Date:
- Only sync tasks due this week
- Reduces noise from far-future tasks
Sync by Priority:
- Only P1 and P2 tasks
- Focus on high-priority work

Data Handling
OAuth Token:
- Encrypted at rest
- Stored on HealUp servers
- Revocable anytime
- Never shared
Task Data:
- Synced via Todoist API
- Cached locally in browser
- Not stored long-term by HealUp
- Deleted when disconnecting
Revoking Access
From HealUp:
- Settings → Integrations → Todoist
- Click "Disconnect"
- OAuth token revoked
- Tasks remain in HealUp (stop syncing)
From Todoist:
- Todoist Settings → Integrations
- Find HealUp
- Click "Revoke access"
- HealUp loses access immediately

No Todoist Premium required for HealUp integration.

Can I use HealUp without Todoist?
Yes. Todoist integration is optional. HealUp works standalone.
Will this replace Todoist?
No. HealUp complements Todoist. Use Todoist for organization, HealUp for execution.
What happens if I disconnect?
Tasks in HealUp remain but stop syncing. Reconnect anytime to resume sync.
Can I sync completed tasks?
Yes, enable in settings. Useful for reviewing past work.
Do recurring tasks sync?
Only one instance copies to HealUp. Complete it → creates next recurrence in Todoist only.
Can I add subtasks?
Not currently. Subtasks in Todoist don't map to HealUp. Use AI breakdown instead.
Is there a sync limit?
50 tasks per batch. Multiple batches if you have more tasks.
