Apple Calendar Integration

Export completed HealUp tasks to Apple Calendar (iCal) to create a visual record of your execution sessions on macOS and iOS devices.


Quick Start

  1. Sign in to HealUp (authentication required)
  2. Settings → Integrations → Apple Calendar
  3. Click "Enable iCal Export"
  4. Copy iCal subscription URL
  5. Add to Apple Calendar
  6. Completed tasks appear automatically

Total setup time: 3 minutes


iCal Subscription

HealUp generates:
- Unique iCal feed URL for your account
- Contains all completed tasks as events
- Updates every 15 minutes

Apple Calendar:
- Subscribes to feed URL
- Auto-refreshes to show new completions
- Displays as calendar events

Update Frequency

iCal Feed:

  • Updates every 15 minutes
  • Or manually refresh in Apple Calendar
  • Completed tasks appear with slight delay

Step 1: Get iCal URL

  1. Open HealUp Settings

    • Click Settings (⚙️)
    • Navigate to Integrations
    • Find Apple Calendar
  2. Enable Export

    • Click "Enable iCal Export"
    • Unique URL generated
    • Click "Copy URL" button

Step 2: Add to Apple Calendar (macOS)

  1. Open Calendar app

  2. Add Calendar Subscription

    • File → New Calendar Subscription
    • Or: Cmd+Shift+S
  3. Paste URL

    • Paste HealUp iCal URL
    • Click Subscribe
  4. Configure

    • Name: "HealUp Tasks"
    • Color: Choose any color
    • Auto-refresh: Every hour (or less)
    • Click OK

Step 3: Add to Apple Calendar (iOS)

  1. Open Settings app (not Calendar app)

  2. Navigate to Calendar

    • Settings → Calendar → Accounts
  3. Add Account

    • Tap "Add Account"
    • Tap "Other"
    • Tap "Add Subscribed Calendar"
  4. Paste URL

    • Paste HealUp iCal URL
    • Tap Next
    • Name: "HealUp Tasks"
    • Tap Save

Step 4: Verify

  1. Complete a task in HealUp
  2. Wait 15-20 minutes
  3. Check Apple Calendar
  4. See new event appear

Or force refresh:

  • macOS: Calendar → Refresh All (Cmd+R)
  • iOS: Pull down on calendar view

  • All-day event or timed (based on settings)
  • Timed: Shows actual execution time
  • All-day: Just completion date

Customization

In HealUp Settings:

  • Event format (timed vs all-day)
  • Include step details
  • Include notes
  • Include time estimates vs actuals

What's Included

Completed Tasks:

  • All task completions export
  • Automatic feed updates
  • Historical record

Task Details:

  • Name and completion time
  • Steps completed count
  • Actual time spent
  • Optional: Full step breakdown

Limitations

Not Supported:

  • Two-way sync (read-only from Apple Calendar)
  • Individual step exports (only full tasks)
  • In-progress tasks (only completed)
  • Task editing from calendar

iCal URL

Important:

  • URL contains secret token
  • Anyone with URL can view your tasks
  • Keep URL private
  • Don't share publicly

If URL Leaked:

  1. Settings → Apple Calendar
  2. Click "Regenerate URL"
  3. Old URL stops working
  4. Update subscription in Apple Calendar

What's Visible

In Calendar:

  • Task names
  • Completion times
  • Optional: Step details and notes

Not Shared:

  • Your account info
  • Uncompleted tasks
  • Guest mode tasks
  • Integration connections

Multiple Device Sync

iCal subscriptions sync automatically:

  • Add on Mac → appears on iPhone/iPad
  • One subscription → all Apple devices
  • iCloud handles synchronization

Keep subscription active for:

Does this work on iPhone and iPad?

Yes. iCal subscriptions sync across all Apple devices via iCloud.

Can I edit task details from calendar?

No. Calendar is read-only record. Edit tasks in HealUp.

How far back does history go?

iCal feed includes last 90 days of completions. Configure in HealUp settings for longer/shorter periods.

Can I export to iCloud Calendar?

Yes. Apple Calendar = iCloud Calendar. Same thing on Apple devices.

Does this require iCloud?

No, but iCloud enables multi-device sync. Without iCloud, subscription only on device you added it.

What if I regenerate the iCal URL?

Old URL stops working. Update subscription in Apple Calendar with new URL.
